A former client updates his counsellor on his life since leaving Oasis

Dear Helen
It has been a while so I just wanted to let you know how I'm getting on.

 

I'm still living in Portsmouth and working in a school every day. I'm happy most days despite struggling around money!

 

I still live alone but there's a huge recovery community here.
Over the past year I've reached out and become part of something special. At first I found it uncomfortable but less so today.

 

I cannot believe its taken two years to understand that it's not about what I can get but how much I can give of myself. I guess I needed to see it to believe it.

 

I'm still exercising that new 'muscle' that you used to talk about. Having had glimpses of its power, I'm willing to see more of it in action and continue to take more risks. I can't stand still.

 

I hope some of that made sense; I just typed it how it came out!
