After Care Group Therapy

 

Oasis Treatment Centre – weekly on Fridays at 1700 in Solar House Group Therapy Room

 

After a short absence Oasis After Care group has returned. It is now held on Fridays This to allow clients to get issues off their chests before the weekend, and is early enough for people still to go out afterwards.

 

After Care is a safe, confidential environment where ex-patients can bring their issues and ask for help from each other. It is not a substitute for 12 Step fellowship meetings.

 

 

Here are some thoughts and views of members of the current group:

 

' I go to wrap up my week and catch up with others in the group, to see if I'm doing what everyone else is doing in recovery. In the group I dump all my stuff, say whatever I want, and stay connected.'

' I go to practise new behaviours and to see how my life is coming together. After care is a safe environment and offers something different from fellowship meetings. It makes sense to me as a follow up to my treatment.'

'After care is a fundamental, amazing part of my week. I dump one week and go on to the next. The relaxed therapeutic vibe makes it special and allows trust. I feel connected to the other members of the group and we all know what page we are on. During the following week we can help each other with the issues that have come up in the group.
