Treatment & Counselling for Alcohol Addiction

Alcohol addiction is widely known as "alcoholism". Social drinking, occasional overindulgence and getting a little 'merry' is nothing new, and most individuals do not take their drinking to the level of alcoholism.

However, it is widely believed that regular alcohol abuse is often the precursor to alcohol dependency or alcohol addiction which is a progressive disease that becomes more severe over time. Alcohol addiction and alcoholism develop as a result of many interconnected factors, including a genetic predisposition, lifestyle and social environments as well as psychological and emotional factors.

As with all addictions, the disease is the same, it is just the manifestation that is different. Alcohol abuse becomes a problem when an addict is powerless against their addiction.

Treating alcohol addiction should not only deal with the symptoms, as drinking is not the root problem - the problem sits within the alcoholic themselves.
